Airmail Review – Great, fast email app for Mac OS X

This post reviews Airmail, a fast email client for Mac OS X that combines a simple design with great features.     I’m someone who uses and likes most of Apple’s native apps on iOS and Mac OS X, but I’ve never been a fan of the stock email apps on either platform. Mail on iOS, while it has been improved in the last few years, just seems to have a lot of extra features that I don’t tend to use. I like the experience of sending emails to be simple and lightweight. The Mail app on Mac OS X Continue Reading →

Automate simple tasks – IFTTT for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad (mini)

If you’re like me, then you’re one of those people that is always looking for ways to get things done faster all the while better maximizing your time. As a long time mac user I’ve frequently played around with the built in “Automator” tool that allows you to make simple scripts (or applications) that automate redundant tasks for you. While Automator isn’t available for iPhone, the new mobile application IFTTT (If This Then That – pronounced like gift without the “g”) allows you to build simple, yet powerful “recipes” as they call it that are both useful and help automate Continue Reading →

Recommended App: Genius Scan

Genius Scan turns your iPhone into a pocket scanner. It enables you to quickly scan documents on the go and email the scans as JPEG or PDF. I use this app all the time to scan documents into Evernote. Evernote is an electronic document filing system that I use. Here is an example of how helpful Genius Scan can be. I take my Honda Accord in to the shop to get the oil changed. When I get my car back, they print out the invoice with the date and the odometer reading as proof of the service performed on the Continue Reading →
