Use Siri to set custom repeating reminders on iPhone, iPad (Mini), and iPod Touch

This article will teach you how to use Siri to set custom repeating reminders on iPhone, iPad (Mini), and iPod Touch.

Let’s face it: with all the details in our busy lives we often forget things.  That’s why I like the stock Reminders app that comes with iOS.  With it you can create lists, remember important information at a specific time, and set location based reminders.

One of the basic functions of Reminders is that you can have it remind you of something at a specific time.  You can even schedule repeating reminders.  However, the options under the Repeat menu when creating a reminder are somewhat limited.

What if you want to be reminded of something at a custom interval, say, every five days?  Siri to the rescue!

By asking Siri to remind you of something at a different interval than those listed in Reminders, you can generate a Custom Repeat.  Check out the example below:

Now I’ll remember to water my terrarium every five days!  You can try experimenting with other types of intervals too, like “every other day,” “every Tuesday and Wednesday,” or even add location to the mix with something like, “every five days when I get to work.”
