If you find yourself in a place where you need to zoom in when taking a photo, you can simply place your thumb and a finger on your iPhone or iPad screen when in the Camera app. Then, with your thumb and finger still on the screen slowly spread them apart. The subject of the photo will get bigger as you zoom in. Use “Volume Up” Button to Take a Picture

Anytime you go to take a picture with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can use the “Volume Up” button on the side of the device as the shutter release. This makes it much more like a point-and-shoot camera avoiding the need to touch the right part of your screen while taking a picture.
