This is one of my favorite travel apps. TripIt will automatically detect travel itineraries that come in to your linked email accounts. The app makes sure you have all the details you need for your flight including departure times, confirmation numbers, seat numbers, etc. There is a feature that allows you to visualize your travel routes on a map. 3. Just Landed (iPhone only)
This app gives you alerts for specific flights that you are tracking to tell you when you should head to the airport to pick up your friends or family. You simply type in the flight number to the app and the app will begin to track the flight for you. You will get a popup reminder when the flight has taken off and then another notification when you should start heading to the airport. The app gives you the gate number, the time the flight lands, your driving time to the airport, and even a link to the Maps App to give you turn-by-turn directions. 5. Airline Apps with Passbook Integration: United, Delta, American
In iOS 6, Apple introduced passbook, a digital way to store tickets for things like concerts, coupons, and airline boarding passes. Some airlines have started integrating Passbook into their mobile apps. Passbook integration for an airline app means that you can check in to your flight from your iDevice and your boarding pass will be digitally stored on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Then, when you arrive at the airport, the boarding pass will automatically appear on your lock screen and all you need to do is swipe to reveal it and have it scanned at the gate for boarding.
