mTrip, the company that builds my favorite travel app, has just announced that it will be discounting its travel apps to Free for a limited time. There are a set of travel apps that will be free each day over the next 4 days, so be sure to check back daily to get the travel apps for the cities you want.
A little over a year ago, I had the privilege of traveling to Shanghai, China. There is an mTrip travel app for Shanghai and so I purchased it at the time for $4.99. I used the app every day. One of the best features of this travel guide app is that it offers offline access. So, you don’t need a data or internet connection to use the map and GPS. I was able to seamlessly navigate to my hotel using Shanghai public transportation because I had the offline navigation through the mTrip Shanghai Travel Guide app. The app also has what is called augmented reality. This means that the phone will overlay helpful information on the iPhone, iPad (Mini), or iPod Touch screen when you point the camera towards buildings or other sites in the city. Additionally, the app offers all kinds of points of interest to help you find great restaurants, tourist attractions, etc.
