The perfect car dashboard-window mount for iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5S

Ever since Apple included GPS in the iPhone 3G, I have been a regular user of various maps apps that provide driving directions on the go. The only trick to this is figuring out how to set your iPhone up in the car so that you can easily see the directions without taking your eyes and concentration off of the road. There are lots of car dashboard and window mounts out there. I have tried various ones that mount to the fan vent or are connected to an extension from the cigarette lighter. None of these have been good solutions. Continue Reading →

11 Tricks you can do with your Apple EarPods or Earphones using the inline remote

One of the things I love about Apple is that the company has figured out the art of putting incredible functionality into very simple and elegant products. Unfortunately, the simplicity sometimes hides features. When the iPhone 5 was announced, Apple also introduced the EarPods. These are specially designed earphones that add additional clarity, deeper bass, better fit for more ears, multiple mics for noise cancellation, and the inline remote. The inline remote is packed full of all kinds of features. Here are 11 of these features: 1. Volume up/down When you squeeze the plus sign on the inline remote it Continue Reading →

Apple gave Siri a big upgrade in iOS 6. There are hundreds of things that you can ask Siri. Unfortunately, Siri is not available on all iOS devices. Ask Siri: Did you know that Siri in iOS 6 can give you nutritional information on most foods?

Siri is able to tap into Wolfram Alpha, which is a computational knowledge engine. Because of this, there is an entire bank of knowledge that can be drawn upon by simply asking Siri. One helpful piece of information that can be computed by Wolfram Alpha is nutritional information for food. For example, you can ask things like, “What is the nutritional value of an Egg McMuffin?” Siri will look up the information and present it all in a nutritional value label right on your iPhone, iPad (Mini), or iPod Touch screen. You can also ask Siri to calculate specific quantities or Continue Reading →

iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S case with built in Bluetooth Headset

One of the iPhone accessories that I use every single day of the year is a case that I got for my 4S that has a built in bluetooth headset nestled in the back. It is called the Mogo Talk. The case protects my phone while providing me access to a handsfree headset any time. I love it. In fact, I like this case so much that it is one of the main reasons I have not yet upgraded to the iPhone 5 (they don’t make the case for the iPhone 5). I charge the headset overnight and then turn Continue Reading →

Logitech Bluetooth Speaker: The perfect portable wireless speaker for your iPhone or iPad

I just recently purchased this Logitech Mini Boombox (new version is the Logitech UE Mobile Boom Box) for my iPhone and iPad. It is amazing! It is about the footprint of your iPhone and about 3 inches tall. It comes with a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 10 hours. The speaker can also be used as a handsfree calling device to receive calls. The controls are all touch sensitive controls on the top of the speaker. You can play/pause, skip forward/backwards, and receive a call. The sound is great and packs more bass than you would expect from such Continue Reading →
