Quick Tip: How to set songs from your music library to be your iPhone, iPad (Mini), or iPod Touch Alarm Clock Sound

Quick Tip: How to set songs from your music library to be your iPhone, iPad (Mini), or iPod Touch Alarm Clock SoundThis is a Quick Tip on how to set songs from your music library to be your iPhone, iPad (Mini), or iPod Touch Alarm Clock Sound. In iOS 6, Apple enabled a feature in the Clock app that allows you to set a song from your music library as your alarm clock tone so you can wake up to beautiful music rather than the built in sounds. This works in iOS 6, iOS 7, and iOS 8 for the iPhone, iPad (Mini), and iPod Touch. It is quite easy to set this up. Here are the steps:

1. Launch the Clock App and tap on “Alarm” at the bottom.

2. Tap “+” to add a new alarm or tap “Edit” and select an existing alarm time to edit.

3. Tap on “Sound” and then “Pick a song”. Navigate to the song you want to set as your alarm clock sound for this particular time and tap on it to select it.

4. Then tap “Back” and “Save”.

You’re all set. Now, the next time you turn that alarm on (including when you use Siri to set the alarm), it will wake you up with whatever song you selected. Additionally, any time you want to use that same song for a different time as an alarm, it will stay in the list of songs that are currently in use as alarms so you don’t have to go digging through your entire music library.
