Control computer with iPhone, iPad (Mini), iPod Touch

control computer using iPhone, iPad (Mini), and iPod TouchOne of my favorite apps that I use allows me to control my computer with my iPhone or iPad (Mini). It also works with an iPod Touch. The setup is easy and I can use my iDevice as a remote, a wireless mouse, a keynote or powerpoint presentation controller, etc. The best part is that the connection is established via Wi-Fi so you don’t need line of sight for it to work. The app I use is called Mobile Mouse (click here for a direct link to the app in the App Store: Mobile Mouse -Remote/Mouse/Trackpad/Keyboard).

Here is how to set up and use the app:

1. Download the app for your iOS Device from the App Store (Link to app: Mobile Mouse)

2. Then, download the free server software for your computer – Mac, Windows, or Linux (Mobile Mouse Website: www.mobilemouse.com)

3. Follow the simple instructions to configure both the app on your iDevice and the Mobile Mouse Server on your computer. Make sure both are on the same Wi-Fi network.

4. Once the connection is established, you can take full control of your computer wirelessly.

The app has multiple pre-configured controls for browsing the web, controlling iTunes, switching between apps on the computer, etc. There is also a mode that allows you to control the mouse on your computer by rotating your iOS device – motion is detected through the accelerometer in your device.

Overall this is an excellent and easy to use app that I highly recommend if you need a way to control your computer using your iPhone, iPad (Mini), and iPod Touch. This is a simple way to turn your iOS device into a remote, mouse, trackpad, and keyboard.
