This is a review of AR7, a recently released app that helps you find beautiful wallpapers for your iPhone or iPod Touch.
One of the easiest ways to spruce up your iOS device is to change its wallpaper. AR7, which was recently released on the App Store, is a great, simple app that showcases the wallpaper designs of @AR72014, an Italian designer and developer. I found @AR72014’s wallpapers a few months back on Twitter and since then have frequently used them on my iPhone 5. He has a knack for designing beautiful, minimalistic wallpapers that enhance the look and feel of iOS. Rather than relying heavily on photographs, @AR72014 primarily employs gradients, textures, and other simple design elements to craft his wallpapers. This approach gives your iPhone or iPod Touch a colorful, eye catching look, particularly on iOS 7 where transparency and opacity allow the wallpaper colors to shine through.
AR7 is very easy to use. Across the bottom of the app are three different tabs that contain wallpapers for 4″ devices (like the iPhone 5s, 5c, and 5 as well as the most recent generation of iPod Touch), 3.5″ devices (like the iPhone 4s and earlier and the older model of iPod Touch), and Parallax (for use with iOS 7’s new Parallax effect).
Once you’ve selected the tab you wish to browse, it’s a simple matter of scrolling through the wallpapers until you find one you like, tapping on it, and then using the Share button in the top right of the screen to save the image to your device. The wallpaper will then appear in your Camera Roll. You can set it as your device’s wallpaper from there. New wallpapers are added frequently by @AR72014, and the app can be refreshed using the small circular arrow button in the top left of the screen.
If you’re looking for an easy way to find great looking new wallpapers for your iPhone or iPod Touch, check out AR7 on the App Store where it is currently available for free. Give it a try and enjoy your iOS device’s great new looks!
